On Sunday 9th November around 200 people completed a 5k walk in memory of Jimmy, a much loved and missed husband, dad, brother and friend to many. The weather was perfect with blue skies and sunshine making it a very enjoyable and memorable occasion as we walked the route Jimmy so often walked. Everyone was served tea/coffee & snacks after the event. Mr Tom McMillan (Chairman of Pulmonary Fibrosis NI) and his wife Una were there to greet us and chat to everyone. The McKinney family are so thankful for the wonderful support, generosity and help we have received which was way beyond our expectations.
Today, 11th January 2026 we handed over a cheque to Mr Tom McMillan (PFNI) for the huge sum of £9300.00 – this money will help fund Medical Research, Raising Awareness and Respite for sufferers and their families.
The McKinney family circle thank everyone most sincerely for all the very generous donations and for attending this event, to all in Lislea Committee and Community who helped with catering and organising etc, to McAnerney’s Supermarket for supporting us with collection buckets at their check-outs and supply of Refreshments, to Tom and Una McMillan (PFNI) for their guidance and providing information booklets about Pulmonary Fibrosis.
