In May 2025, it was yet another first for PFNI, and this time, it was to welcome 2 very important people, Professor Andrew Fisher who is a consultant in respiratory medicine and Lung transplantation and he looks after patients from NI who may potentially get a lung transplant. We also welcomed Hazel Mews, who works along Professor Fisher as a transplant co-ordinator. Both have been running clinics here for many years in The City Hospital Belfast, but on this occasion, they accepted an invitation from your Trustees to come and speak to us. One of our Ambassadors, Paddy McNamara, who successfully received a lung transplant at the hands of these 2 wonderful people, asked some probing questions on our behalf. Needless to say, they both were blown away by our respite provision.
